| Rs. 26.8 Cr. Spent on various development schemes | | | Early Times Reporter Leh | Jan 15 An amount of Rs. 26.81 Cr. Was spent by ending December 2007 in Leh district on various development schemes against the allocation of Rs. 65 crores for the fiscal year 2007-08 which represent over 41 percent. This was disclosed at a meeting of district officers chaired by Deputy Commissione, Dr. M.K Bhandari here today. The meeting was told that 98 percent expenditure was registered in medium irrigation sector for which Rs. 30 lakhs was allocated whereas Rs. 6.84 crores was spent under road and building sector against an allocation of Rs. 21.35 crores representing 32 percent. About Rs. 58.46 lakhs was spent in forest sector by ending December, 2007 against an allocation of Rs. 75.90 lakhs. Under agriculture sector Rs. 42.06 lakhs was spent against the allotted allocation of Rs. 142.40 lakhs for the year. Under commend area development programme for which Rs. 83.72 lakhs was allocated Rs. 77.52 lakh were spent. While under education sector Rs. 46.90 lakhs was spent. Under health sector Rs. 217 lakh and Rs. 231 lakhs was spent under public health engineering. |
