| PSU holds demonstration, burns CM’s effigy | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 16 Panthers Students Union (PSU) under the leadership of its state president Mohinder Paul Singh Pandu held a demonstration against the state government and burnt effigy of the chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in protest against his alleged failure to put on track the defunct education system in the state. Talking to the media persons at the demonstration venue, Pandu revealed that the reality of hollow slogans of corruption free governance has been exposed by the recent claim of MLA Shoab Lone who revealed that the minister through driver had accepted bribe from him at his office and discussed on the issue. Pandu further said that this is a slap on good governance of Azad as Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed was not only the cabinet minister but was also the chief of Pradesh Congress Committee. Pandu said if chief of congress party is involved in corruption then what to speak of other congress ministers and leaders. Fiaz Ahmed provincial secretary on the occasion appealed to the governor to have CBI enquiry on this issue and other related issues of rising corruption in J&K state. Kailash Mohan, Distt. Present PSU appealed to the govt to have a free enquiry on the tenure of Peerzada as the education minister for introducing new colleges and elementary education training centers in which it is supposed that he might have helped some persons with vested interest. Other who were also present includes Gagandeep Singh, Sushant Sharma, Sanjeev, Rakesh Sharma, Akhmat Chowdhary and Karun. |
