| Pankaj Advani admires football: Arun | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 16 The master of the seven-ball game of billiards and snooker, Pankaj Advani has admired the game of football. The well decorated cueist at this young age of 24, Pankaj has to his credit world record of winning both billiards and snooker titles. A staffer of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), this young man from Bangalore narrated his love for the game of soccer to country’s another star footballer from Jammu and Kashmir, Arun Malhotra. In fact, both Pankaj and Arun developed intimacy on a luncheon hosted by the ONGC in honour of the football team that won the tournament against Oil India `Assam’ by a solitary goal. An Arjuna Awardee, who has to his kitty another top award of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratan, achieved his career’s first milestone in Jammu itself. The career best performance of a double title victory came into the life of Pankaj in City of Temples. It is pertinent to mention here that Jammu and Kashmir hosted the national billiards and snooker championship at the Hari Niwas Palace Hotel in 2000. “I had a great time with Pankaj, who likes football a lot. Thorough gentleman Pankaj shared with me the moments he spent in Jammu during a fortnight stay in the city in the year 2000,” Afro-Asian silver medalist, Arun Malhotra told Sports & Allied News on telephone. |
