| My supporters will give befitting reply to conspirators: Peerzada | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 16 A day after submitting his resignation from the council of ministers and the post of PCC Chief congress legislator Peerzada Mohd Sayeed,facing graft charges, distanced himself from the driver arrested by the state police alleging that the driver enjoyed proximity of the Shoib family and was more close to them.Sayeed also made it clear that his wife had not threatened mother of Shoib Lone over telephone, as claimed by Shoib in his accusation. “I have noting to do with the driver Altaf Noorani arrested by the state police.My wife also did not threatened any one on telephone.,Sayeed told reporters addressing press conference at his residence. "When I asked my wife whether you had made some calls she told me she had not done it, Sayeed clarified. On his association with the driver, he said, I have not met him in the last three months and he was more close to Shoib Lone’s family than me. Noornai was associated with Dr GhulamNabi Lone for over three years and enjoyed close proximity with the family. The driver used to refer to Shoib’s mother as 'Mummy' and called him 'brother', Peerzada said smelling a political conspiracy against him. He said he was not bothered about the resignation from the council of ministers. "My supporters will give a befitting reply to those behind the conspiracy".He declined to comment further and also refused to name persons behind the game plan. He said I will expose everyone who is conspiring against me. “Yeh ministry aati hai jati hai leader who hota hai jiske saath log hotein hain,Sayeed told reporters. Referring to allegations leveled by Shoib Lone,Sayeed said if anyone of my personal staff members had demanded bribe from Shoib Lone why was he waiting for last nine months.He said the file pertaining to Shoib Lones relative reached office of the Minister of state for education on June 13, 2007 and it remained there till 22.On 22 my office received the file and I disposed it off within hours.So the question of any graft money does not arise,he clarified pointing fingers towards Shoib Lone why he kept silent all along. He said during the autumn session inSrinagar Shoib Lone never leveled any allegation against me and now he is alleging that my staff members had demanded bribe of Rs 40,000 to clear the file.If he was serious he should have brought the issue to the notice of chief minister, or at least to my knowledge. He said as per the Supreme court ruling Shoib Lone should also tender his resignation.I donot know how he will help people of his constituency if he is himself promoting culture of bribing for getting work done,Sayeed said hoping to come clean out of the controversy. |
