| NC, JKNPP legislators stage walkout from Assembly | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 17 Legislators of the Opposition National Conference (NC) and Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today staged a walkout from the state assembly protesting against the incomplete reply by a minister on the land regularisation cases. Replying to a question by JKNPP legislator Bhim Singh, Minister for Revenue and Finance Aijaz Ahmed Khan told the house that illegal land of three politicians, including Rural Development Minister Mula Ram, MLA Yogesh Sawhney and Deputy Chairman of the assembly Harminder Singh Micky have been regularised under Roshni Act in Jammu city. He also said Rs 43.51 crores revenue have been generated on the account of regularisation of unauthorised land holdings in the state till now. The funds generated under the act will be utilised for betterment of education, health, road, powers and irrigation supplies of the state, the minister said. However, the minister failed to give details of the regularisation of government lands under the act within the municipal corporation areas of Jammu and Srinagar along with the names of the beneficiaries. On this, the JKNPP MLA was joined by NC legislator M Y Taing, who demanded the details of the people benefited under the scheme. However, the minister said he does not have the details, resulting in a walkout by the duo from the assembly. |
