Ex-DIG donates 2 kanal proprietary land to JKP
Khoda recalls dedication, devotion of Vishwa Mitter

Director General of Police Mr. Kuldeep Khoda said that Late Shri Vishwa Mitter Bakshi Ex-Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) will be remembered always in the history of JKP for his professional policing, discipline and dedication.
Khoda was addressing the function held at Police Headquarters here today in which the family members of late Vishwa Mitter Bakshi announced donation of two kanals of proprietary land on his centenary birth anniversary to the Jammu and Kashmir Police at Sanasar tourist resort for use by Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization. His son Swadesh Mitter Bakshi, professionally an Industrialist handed over the complete revenue papers with regard to transfer of land to the Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization to the Director General of Police on the occasion.
The Director General of Police paid rich tributes to the late police officer and said late Bakshi had made a history in the Jammu and Kashmir Police by serving the organization honestly and dedicatedly during his long tenure of 36 years in the police organization would be remembered always. He said, "We should not forget those brave police officers who had served the state and are proud of such brilliant and intelligent officers". He thanked the family members of late police officer for coming forward and donating the land and assured them that a memorial would be built in memory of late V. M. Bakshi in Jammu.
Describing Bakshi an able administrator and professional police officer, Khoda said much has been heard about Bakshi's professional working which would be guideline for all of us. He said, “this is historical occasion in the police organization that family of late officer donated their property to the police organization where their father served for about 36 years". He said this would be a big honour for the police organization and family members of late police officer. He said such functions provide an occasion and opportunity to all of us to serve the people honestly and add to the reputation of organization.
Ex-Directors General of Police Ghulam Jeelani Pandit and M. M. Khajuria, who were present on the occasion, addressed the function and recalled 36 years service by Vishwa Mitter Bakshi in the police organization across the state.
Paying tributes to the late police officer, they said he was practical police officer, man of professionalism, honesty and would be remembered always for providing justice to the people.
Earlier, the Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) J. A. Makhdoomi threw light on the long service carrier of late Police Officer and apprised the gathering about the working of Bakshi during his service period in the police organization. He said Bakshi joined the Organization as ASI Prosecution in the year 1930 and served the state for about 36 years before retiring as DIG Jammu in 1966.
Among others, the function was attended by Davinder Rana MLC, Inspectors General of Police, K. Rajandra, P.L.Gupta, S.K.Mishra, Gopal Reddy, Dr. S.P.Vaid, Navin Agarwal, Dilbagh Singh, Sheikh Owais Ahmed, A.K.Gupta and Mohammad Amin Shah, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, L. Mohanti, Ravinder Kotwal, M.A.Anjum, Gulzar Singh, Suneel Kumar Sharma, and Muneer Ahmed Khan, Retired Senior Police Officers, S.S.Wazir, Nassan Khan, Hafiz Akhtar, D.J.Gangoo, Romesh Koul and R. K. Mehta, Prof. B. S. Bali. AIG (Personnel) Riyaz Ahmed Bedar, AIG (T&I) Rajesh Kumar, AIG(P) A.A.Kakroo, family members of late DIG and other police officers.
