DMHP training programme concludes

The District Mental Health Programme (DMPH) to providing training to the assistant surgeons of all districts of Jammu province begins on Oct. 16 concludes here today. On the occasion a valedictory function was organized at Mental Hospital Amphalla today where certificates to 10 medical offices were awarded by the Secretary Health, K.B Jandial after completion of their course.
Speaking on the occasion, Jandial said that the training programme was first of its kind in the country and was successful due to the active collaboration of NIMHANS Bangalore. He further added that it was that head of the hour to implement DMHP at all districts and the medical officer trained during the programme would fulfill the shortage of psychiatry trained physicians especially in the far flung areas of the state. Among others who spoke on the occasion were, Director Health Services, Dr. Jasbir Singh, Principal Govt. Medical College Dr. Rajinder Singh, HOD NIMHANS, Dr. Ganga Dhar, and DR. Jagdish Thappa.
