The high profile Srinagar sex scandal which cost many big and influential people their public repute –irrespective of the fact whether they were part of sleaze or not –had many unsung names which caused political explosion in the state.
The revelations and subsequent investigations still continue to haunt many. Those who have been named are still busy in arranging material in their defence for proving themselves innocent. And those whose names are rumoured about are counting on the fate if it does not bounce in the public. But very little is known about Ansar Ahmed of Purshiyar, Habbakadal who first took the lid off the can of worms.
22 years old Ansar runs a small mobile (cell phone) shop in Purshiyar (Habbakadal) Srinagar. In February 2006, he bought a mobile phone handset from his friend Ashu. A young lad, Ansar wanted to have some choosy ring-tones and wall papers in his new classy handset which usually sets a craze in the Valley.
He visited another cellphone shop, Al-Riyaz, managed by one Riyaz Ahmed, at Khaniyar for getting the ringtones and wall paper clippings downloaded to his handset. He made a specific list of songs and pictures which he wanted in his cell phone handset. However, Riyaz was busy at that moment and asked Ansar to collect the memory card his phone in the evening with all downloads.
In evening Ansar collected his memory card and back at shop put it in his handset to listen to the new music and see the clippings. He found every thing in as he had ordered for but to his surprise there were two additional clippings which he had not asked for. To his further surprise, the additional clippings were pornographic in nature.
Ansar, however, developed a curiosity and saw the clippings keenly. What he finds out is that a girl performing in the pornographic clippings was one with a very familiar face. On seeing it repeatedly he identified the girl as one belonging to the same locality. He immediately rushed to one Firdaous alias Sahaba, a grocery shop owner in the same locality and also a member of the Mohalla Welfare Committee. Firdaus also recognized the girl and smelled a larger plot behind the professional production of the short film.
He spoke to other members of the Mohalla Sudhar Committee and the porn material from the cell phone memory card was written on a CD which was handed over to the Police. This marked the beginning of the Srinagar sex scandal whose end is not in anyone’s comprehension. |
