| Azad pays glowing tributes to Imam Hussain (RA) | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 19 Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has paid glowing tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the martyr of Karbala who, 14 centuries ago, sacrificed his life along with those of his companions for upholding truth and righteousness. On Ashoora-e-Muharram, commemorating the martyrdom of the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Mr. Azad said that Imam Hussain (RA) and his worthy companions who comprised infants, aged and women, had set a shining example of sacrificing their lives for the sake of truth, virtue and justice. The Chief Minister said that the martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain (RA) was an eternal lesson for mankind not to deviate from the path of righteousness, whatever be the consequences. He said in the face of extreme odds and merciless enemy who used all conceivable methods of torture and cruelty, Imam Hussain (RA), his family and companions did not deviate from their chosen path of standing up against the evil. By writing with their blood the saga of righteousness against the evil, they have become immortal and would continue to live in the hearts of each human being who followed the path of virtue. Azad said while Ashoora-e-Muharram was an occasion for "all of us to remember the martyrs of Karbala and seek blessings of Allah for them, it also provides opportunity to rededicate ourselves for the cause of the truth." |
