The Panthers Party has decided to strengthen its units in various parts of the state so that its bargaining capacity improves to such an extent that other political parties come forward for forging a pre-poll alliance.
Stating this leader of the Panthers Party in the Assembly, Harshdev Singh said here today "it is too premature to think of electoral adjustment or understanding with one party or the other." "We have decided to broaden the base of the Panthers Party so that others feel that we have the capacity for winning a sizeable number of seats in the next poll," he said. Hasrh Dev Singh agreed that chances of an alliance with either the Congress or the National Conference or the PDP are remote for various political factors. 'We have to guard ourselves against aligning with those organizations which are considered Kashmir centric," he added.
Asked when the prospects of an alliance with three major political parties are dim there was then hardly any scope for Panthers Party for having an electoral understanding with a party that has roots in the state Hars Dev said "nothing can be said on the issue at the moment." He said when the poll dates drew near new political combinations would emerge and one should not feel surprised over it.
He said the Panthers Party has covered a lot of ground and for it the atmosphere was becoming favourable for securing support of the electorates .He said one major factor was responsible for. First when the Panthers Party was part of the Coalition Government, the performance of its members in the council of ministers was better than any other ministers. He said for instance the progress and transparency witnessed in the Education sector when he was the Minister have remained matchless. It was during his tune as Education
He said the Panthers Party intends to contest as many as 50 seats in the next election and "we hope to win over 20 seats."
