Advisor inspects development projects, assures redressal of grievances

Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr. Janak Raj Gupta yesterday visited various sites in and around Udhampur town and took stock of various developmental projects under execution in the district.
The District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. O.P. Kalandria, President, Municipal Council, Udhampur, Mr. Ashok Gupta, former Minister, Yash Pal Khajuria, Superintending Engineer, PHE, Mr. Verinder Badyal, Assistant Commissioner, Development. Mr. R.C. Puri and other district officers accompanied the Advisor.
While inspecting on going flood control protection work of Devika rivulet, the Advisor was apprised that over 60 per cent work has been completed and the remaining would be completed in a stipulated time frame provided the funds are released in time. The Advisor asked for early completion of this project and as regards funds he assured to approach the Chief Minister in this regard.
He also visited the existing old bus stand locality at Udhampur and inspected the infrastructure which was to be involved in expansion work of the existing old bus stand at Udhampur. The Advisor also discussed various modalities with officers for dismantling various structures coming under the alignment of expansion work of the bus stand. The Excise and Taxation Department complex coming up near Railway Station, Udhampur was also inspected by Mr. Gupta.
Later, Advisor visited village Ritti to inspect the widening work of Roun-Domail -Ramnagar road besides listening to the grievances of the people whose land was involved in the road expansion project being executed by the Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA). A number of deputations called on him and apprised about non-payment of land compensation to those whose land has come under the alignment of this road widening project. The Advisor assured the people that he would bring their grievances to the notice of the Chief Minister to solve their genuine problem besides giving direction the ERA for redressal of the grievances of the people.
Earlier the prominent citizens who met the advisor at Udhampur included Mahila Congress President, Smt. Geeta Devi, Councilor, Brij Mohan Sharma, Ashwani Khajuira, Shakeel Shah, Vijay Manhas and Neeraj Thappa who apprised him of various problems including Building for DIET office at Jaganoo, Block Status for Jaganoo, drinking water scarcity and erratic water supply at many places, special package for development of Udhampur town, exemption of contractors service tax, provision of Basic pay salary for Rehber-i- Zirat and appointment of unemployed engineers as Rehbar-i-Tamirat etc.
