| Rs. 6.34 cr sanctioned for PHE schemes | | | Early Times Reporter Rajouri | Jan 20 The Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control and Industries, Dr. Romesh Sharma has said that government is making all out efforts to provide basic infrastructure to the rural population of the state. While expressing gratitude of Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Man Mohan Singh for providing liberal funds to the Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Sharma said that state government has undertaken several development projects for assuring progress and prosperity in the state. Minister was addressing largely attended public meetings at Thichka in Sunderbani and Dabbar Potha in Nowshera blocks of Rajouri district yesterday. Senior Block level officers including Executive Engineers from PHE, Power, R&B besides irrigation were among those accompanied the Minister for on the spot appraisal of the works done and proposed plan of the Nowshera constituency. The Minister disclosed that 4 new water supply schemes Thichka and Tanda, Saleri, Dabbar and Potha have been approved at an estimated cost of Rs. 6. 34 crore. He said the work on these schemes would be started before close of current fiscal. In Power sector Sharma added that 9 electric transformers of 100 KV and 1.50 KVA have been installed in Thichka-Kangri belts which cost Rs. 1.50 crore while 9 more have been proposed to be installing in border areas for augmentation of the power supply. He said Rs. 12.00 lakh have been approved under this sector for supply of electric polls to left over moharas of the constituency. Sharma also said that Rs. 4.00 crore have also been approved for construction of Pacca road from Thangar to Meenka falls near the control line. Minister also sanctioned a hand pump for Primary Girls School Thichka and also a compound wall for the school. He directed the concerned officers to complete it within current fiscal. Minister also announced ISM dispensary and a mobile dispensary for the people in this areas. Responding to the demand of providing job to unemployment youth, the regime of present government lot of unemployed youth have been absorbed either under Rehbr-e-Taleem. Rehbr-e-Zarat and Jammu and Kashmir Police. He said 50 Anganwari centres each for Nowshera and Sunderbani would be got approved and when sanctioned more un-employed youth will get employment. He said during next five years all villages and hamlets would be facilitated with drinking water and electricity. |
