Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 20 The women’s 4x100 meters relay team missed the title narrowly in the All India Inter-university Athletics Championship held at Annamalai University, Chidambram in Tamil Nadu from January 13 to January 17. “Unfortunately, one of the relay team member, Payal fell ill a day before the semi-final, which spoiled our dream run, otherwise, the team was doing very well,” a top athlete of the state and presently incharge Assistant Physical Director Government MAM College, Nirmal Singh told Sports & Allied News.
Nirmal, who was coach of the 18-member athletics team of the University of Jammu, said that in all there were 136 Universities affiliated with Association of Indian Universities taking part in the five-day long event. The relay team was comprised of Payal, Rama, Chattari, Mamta and Kiran. According to Nirmal Singh, Kiran also did well in long jump but could not make it to he first three. |
