| Inter-college Kabaddi: Semis position cleared | | | Early Times Reporter

In the ongoing inter-college men’s kabaddi tournament, the semi-finals position has been cleared. The competitions are being organized by the Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu on the campus, here today.
In the quarterfinals played today, Degree College Kathua defeated GGM Science College in a one-sided contest 49-28 to qualify for the semi-finals. The second team to enter the last four stage today was Degree College Reasi, who trounced Degree College Rajouri 21-7.
The combined side of Post Graduate Departments of the University of Jammu also sailed into the semi-finals today beating an equally good team of Government MAM College 52-45 in a neck of neck contest.
Since the third quarterfinal between PG Departments and MAM College was a close one, it also witnessed heated exchange of words between team managements and officials over some decisions in the later stage of the match.
However, the dispute was sorted out with the timely intervention of the Assistant Director Physical Education, Dr Sonam Angchuk.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Director has clarified that in the results dispatched yesterday it was wrongly mentioned that MAM (Evening) beat Degree College Rajouri 29-14. The actual result was otherwise, Degree College Reasi beat MAM (Evening) College.
Now, in the semi-finals, to be played tomorrow, Degree College Kathua to meet Degree College Reasi while PG Departments shall take on Degree College Akhnoor. |
