Railway Police claimed to have busted a gang of pick pocketers after the arrest of five of them from the Jammu railway station last night.
According to the police one pick pocketer was caught red handed while he was about to lay is hand on the wallet of Brij Mohan resident of Bakshi nagar. Mohan had gone to the Jammu railway station to drop his relative.
Yashpaul Singh Jamwal ,S.H.O railway station said here today that Krishan Chand s\o Babban Chand r\o Orissa was trying to pick the pocket of Brij Mohan and was caught red handed while doing so.He said that Brij Mohan's son on searching his pocket found his purse missing which was recovered from the same pick pocketer who was later trying to pick pocket of his father.After the SHO was informed about the incident the spot interrogation of Krishan Chand led to the arrest of another pick pocket who had entered the other train shalimar express for picking pockets. Further interrogation led to the arrest of three more pick pockets from the railway station and its adjoining areas.
Jamwal said that these pick pocketers have been picking pockets at Jammu from the last few weeks at various crowded places including Jewel cinema,Ware house ,Vikram Chowk etc and have been picking pockets at different state's railway station from the past three years .He said a case under section 379 RPC 1/2008 has been registered in this connection.
The pick pockets have been identified as Krishan Chand s/o Babban Chand r/o Orissa,Sachin Kumar s/o Karan Singh r/oBattala Punjab,Subhash Niak s/o Banmal r/o Orissa ,Raffu s/o Fitta Jan r/o Orissa and Salim s/o Kartal r/o Pathankot. |
