Rajouri | Jan 21 The leopard terror has struck villagers and halted life in Darhal area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here said.
Three full grown leopards have created a reign of terror among the locals in Darhal area while frightened by the frequent movements of these wild beasts, the people have restricted their activities and movement to the fields and nearby forest areas.
''The movement of VDC members and even the villagers during nights has come to a halt with the increasing threat of attacks by the leopards who have killed at least half a dozen dogs, goats and sheep in the area,'' sources said.
''The leopards are believed to have come down from the higher reaches of Pir Panjal after heavy snowfall there,'' sources said adding that a Wildlife team has been directed to capture the animals to relieve the local villagers in the area.
