| Rehman for action against those involved in scams, scandals | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 21 Decrying coalition government for its total failure in flushing out the menace of corruption from the system, President Samaj Wadi Party, Sheikh Abdul Rehman has asked the government to divulge the culprits involved in forest scam, sex scandal and land grabbing. Addressing media persons here today, Shiekh Abdul Rehman said that the slogans of transparent and corruption free governance have merely proved to be hollow as corruption across the state have assumed alarming proportions. Terming the allegations of corruption against a cabinet minister and forest scam as tip of the ice berg, Sheikh Abdul Rehman said that to figure at serial number one in the list of most corrupt states in India, was the biggest contribution of coalition government to the state. " Sincerity and commitment of government can be proven if Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad makes public the culprits involved in Forest Scams, Sex scandal and land grabbing", he added. On the occasion, he asked the Chief Minister to make public the names of those involved in sex scandal as revealed by king pin Rubina before the court and take action against those whose names have figured in Kundal commission report. Referring to Accountability commission, he said that it is a tooth less organization to befool the people of Jammu and Kashmir. " The way the Accountability Commission was made tooth less through an amendment snatching its powers and its chairman made to resign is enough proof that government always wanted to shield and save the corrupt ministers," he said. Coming down heavily on central government, Shiekh Abdul Rehman said that if the ministers, Chief Ministers all across the country are booked under the corruption charges then why the Corruption charges against the ministers and Chief Ministers are hushed up by the center. " The war against corruption should be waged from top to bottom instead of targeting clerks and Patwaris at the bottom level as is the case with present government," he suggested. |
