| CM visits, Eidgah, Jama Masjid to review development works | | Announces 10 computers, solar heaters for G&B Girls hostel | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 21 Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today visited Eidgah and Jama Masjid here to take stock of development works. He was accompanied by Minister of State for Education and Social Welfare, G. M. Saroori, Administrator, Auqaf Islamia, Jammu, Abdul Sattar and other officers. The Chief Minister gave on the spot directions for beautification and development of Eidgah where thousands attend congregational prayers on two Eids. He also asked the Auqaf officials to remove the platform in the Eidgah premises to allow more space for visiting devotees to offer prayers. He also asked them to use a leftover portion for parking of vehicles to generate resources for running the affairs of Auqaf and issued instructions for raising the boundary wall of the Eidgah. During his visit to the Jama Masjid at Talab Khatikan, the Chief Minister asked for a detailed proposal for beautification and extension of the grand mosque and relocation of Danish Kadah, the nearby school. Azad also visited the Gujjar and Bakerwal Girls Hostel and interacted with the inmates. He enquired from them about the arrangements for their board and lodge and the facilities provided to them. He assured the inmates that 10 computer systems would be arranged for the hostel from Department of Information & Technology. He also announced that solar heaters would be installed in the hostel for the convenience of the inmates. The Chief Minister also inspected the office of the Administrator, Auqaf Islamia located on the Residency Road and had a feel of its working. He said he would soon take a meeting to review the functioning of the organization. |
