| State Morcha criticizes Govt. for back tracking from its promises | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 21 Strongly criticizing the state government for back tracking from the promises made to the people of Jammu region at the time of last assembly elections including the implementation of CMP, the Jammu State Morcha (Progressive) said that it reflects that the Congress party under the pressure of Kashmiri leadership does not want to give justice to the people of this region. In this connection it referred to the constitution of the Delimitation Commission for which the announcement was made by a senior most party leader and cabinet Minister Pt Mangat Ram Sharma on the Floor of House. Prof Virender Gupta President of the Morha who was addressing the media persons here today said that ‘If delimitation is not done and representation of Jammu province is not increased this could clearly reflect the anti-Jammu bias of the state government as well as that of Kashmiri leadership’, the Morcha President added. ‘The attitude of the Kashmiri leadership and that of the Congress party clearly shows that Jammu region can not get justice in the present political structure and therefore separate statehood for Jammu region is completely justified and unavoidable’, Gupta said. He called upon the leaders of Jammu region belonging to different political parties to realize their responsibilities and make a common cause of liberating Jammu region from the Kashmiri domination. Taking strong note of the rampant corruption in the government, the Morcha President said that it is not only Peerzada but ‘all the Ministers barring a few are entrenched in corrupt practices’ and sought resignation of Forest Minister Qazi Aafzal as there were serious charges against him and the officers working in the department under his charge. The Morcha demanded that all the ministers indicted in the Kundal Commission Report for their involvement in scams including Qazi Afzal and Tariq Hamid Karra should immediately resign from the cabinet and criminal cases registered against them. The Chief Minister must stand by his commitment to the public to fight against and finish the menace of corruption from the state, Gupta said. Abdul Rouf Ganai senior vice president, Hitbandhu Khajuri vice president, Dig Vijay Singh secretary general, Devinder Singh Jamwal general secretary, B M Kohli teasuer, Chander Udey Sharma, press secretary, Naveen Sharma and Harbans Sharma office secretaries were also present at the press conference. |
