| BSF kills Indian man in firing along border | | | GUWAHATI: A man believed to be an Indian national was killed in BSF firing along the Bangladesh border in Assam's Dhubri district, police said.
Officials said a group of about five intruders was asked to stop by BSF personnel while trying to enter India at Senguchar area near Mankachar on Wednesday.
When they refused to stop and tried to flee, the BSF opened fire, killing a man. The rest managed to flee.
Initial investigations revealed the man was an Indian and his home was at Mankachar in Dhubri district. The man's antecedents were being ascertained, officials said. |
