| Allegations against Army-men for helping black marketers, probe sought | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 21 President of Petrol Tankers owners association Anan Sharma has, in a communication to the director general of police, demanded a thorough investigation in growing incidents of black marketing of diesel and kerosene oil being supplied by Indian Oil Corporation to various army locations in the Kashmir valley. The communication sent to the DG police today has alleged that diesel and kerosene meant for the army was being sold in the black in connivance with army officials. Sharma has identified two filling stations in the Kashmir valley which have been receiving diesel and petrol from the tankers filled in Jammu for army supply in the valley. He has said that this had been brought to the light by the drivers of the two tankers seized by the police. He has informed the DG police that though the tankers are loaded at the Jammu depot of the Indian oil corporation but some army officials take advantage of the duplicate keys they posses for drawing petrol and kerosene from the tankers which they sell to the filling stations for sale in black market. Sharma has brought to the notice of the DG police that two oil tankers had already been seized by the police at Baramulla and some army officials in the 16 th core were also operating in league with the couple of filing stations for sale of diesel and petrol in black market. He has requested the DGP to order a thorough probe in the scam and ascertain whether some police officials were also involved in it. |
