| Pay 5000 and tamper your electronic meter | | Three land up in police custody, one absconding | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 21 Three persons - two from Gurgaon in Haryana and a local resident - have been held by Gandhinagar police for reportedly tampering with electronic electricity meter installed at the house of the resident. The tampering was carried out through a remote device that was customized by the two Gurgaon residents for the local resident Rajinder Kumar of Gole Market. According to reports, Rajinder had ordered the customized remote device through a middleman Raj Kumar a resident of Trikuta Nagar, who is reportedly absconding, and the two persons from Gurgaon were hired by Raj for the purpose. Police sources informed that Raj has been, through spread of word, advertising that he can provide for Rs 5000 each a remote devise to the people willing to tamper with their electronic meters. The first so-called client to materialize for him was Rajinder who placed an order with Raj for the devise and since the devise was to be customized for the particular meter, two persons were called by Raj from Gurgaon for the purpose. On receiving specific information a police team from Gandhinagar police station laid a trap and took the three into custody. The identity of the two persons from Gurgaon was yet to be ascertained as last reports came in. Meanwhile, police has registered a case and hunt was on to search Raj. |
