| Rimo Club lifts CEC Ice Hockey C’ship | | | Early Times Reporter

Rimo Club lifted first CEC Ice- Hockey Championship defeating ITBP team by two goals to one.
The final match of the tournament was played today at Karzu Ice Hockey Rink in which Chief Executive councilor, LAHSDC Leh Chering Dorje was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dorje said that Leh district has got big potentials for winter sports for which the talented persons should take benefit from this nature gifted ice Rinks. He appreciated the talents of the players who participated in the competition and stated that the days are not far that independent team from Leh would participate in National as well as International level games.
Dorje appreciated the endeavors of the Ladakh winters sports Club and youth services and sports department in making the championship successful.
Chairman organizing committee, CEC Ice Hockey Championship Dr. MK Bhandari in his presidential address felicitated the enthusiasm of the people who came in a big way to witness the match in spite of intense cold. He further added that CEC Ice Hockey Championship would go a long way in promoting winter sports in Leh.
Dorje on this occasion distributed prizes among winners and runners up. Mohd. Iqbal from ITBp team was awarded as the best player of the championship. |
