| JU benchmark for Kashmir University: VC KU | | Jammu University felicitate Prof. Reyaz Punjabi | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 23 University of Jammu today felicitated Prof. Reyaz Punjabi on being appointed as Vice Chancellor Kashmir University. Felicitation function was organized at Zorawar Singh Auditorium of the University. Vice Chancellor Jammu University Prof. Amitabh Mattoo while presenting a shawl and a memento to Prof. Reyaz Punjabi to felicitate him on the occasion. Prof. Mattoo said that the appointment of Prof. Reyaz Punjabi as VC KU will help the varsity to achieve new heights and develop a real bond between the two varsities. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Prof. Mattoo transformed the University of Jammu and involved civil societies to bring peace in Jammu and Kashmir state. "Let me be very frank, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo has done wonders in this university and we all should be proud of his vision and we must be. As the work he has done in this short span of time will be penned in the history with golden ink," Prof. Punjabi said adding that Jammu University has become bench mark for the Kashmir University and the Vision of Prof. Mattoo has given new model to other institutions to achieve excellence. Prof. Reyaz stressed on the need to develop strategic alliances and partnership between various groups of stake holder of the two University. Prof. JR Dotra, Dean Management Studies and Dr Menakshi Kilam Director Colleges Development and Centre for Quality Assurance as syndicate members of Kashmir University presented bouquets to felicitate Prof. Reyaz Punjabi. Registrar Jammu University, Prof. GS Sambyal presented vote of thanks Registrar Kashmir University, Prof. S Fayaz Ahmad, Zafar Parveez, Office In charge KU in Jammu. Dean Students Welfare (DSF) JU, Dr PS Pathania, Dean Academic Affairs (DAA) JU, BPS Segal, Joint Registrar JU Sanjeev Mahajan, TV Paul from Canada, Dean, HOD's and other faculty members were present on the occasion. Meanwhile Prof. Ma Malik , Head of the Department, Geology disclosed that the first collaborative venture between the Universities is to hold a workshop on "KASHMIR EARTH QUAKE 2005" |
