| Tech Edu to be revamped, restructured: Nissar | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 23 Minister for Technical Education Haji Nissar Ali took a review meeting of functioning of Department of Technical Education here today. He said very soon the department would be reorganized for efficient results. The Minister stressed on efficient and speedy utilization of funds as provided by World Bank for upgrading the infrastructure of various polytechnic colleges and Industrial Training Institute (ITIs). He directed the officers to take measures so that various ongoing construction works for the physical infrastructure of colleges is expedited. The Minister said that it was imperative to make modernization/strengthening of existing ITIs, establishment of women ITIs/wings under PM package and upgradation of ITIs as Centres of excellence with assistance from the World Bank, reality by using available pool of resources and optimal utilization of funds. While stating that the World has opened up in many fields there remains tremendous scope for students passing out from ITIs and polytechnics so as such the government makes it mandatory on its part to give attention to these institutes. The Minister said that very soon he will visit all sites in person to take a first hand view of the situation. Among others Commissioner Secretary Technical Education Mr. Pramodh Jain, Director Technical Education Syed Fazlullah and other officers attended the meeting. |
