Baramulla, August 24 –On repair of Khuls under RMI scheme Rs. 5 crore are being utilized in Uri tehsil. In all ten such Khuls were under repair, work of which 90% works have been completed so far. Besides under R&B sector 25 Kilometer of road has been taken up for construction under NABARD. In Trankanjain one bridge and Patwarkhana is being constructed at Rs. 22.7 lakh.
This was stated by of District Development Commissioner, Baramulla Mr. B.A. Khan during his visit to Uri tehsil along with other District officers. He conducted the extrene tour of Salamabad, Uri, Baniyar, Pallipora, Mohra to assess the problems of people and interacted with the people. During his tour the people highlighted their several demands. He assured people that he will earnestly take early steps to redress their grievances.
It was given out that under health sector one PHE, one sub-centre and in education sector, 60 primary schools and Brijhama Higher Secondary School is under construction. In PHE sector 95 schemes have been made functional. In rural development 16 works have been taken up and under SGSY 71 works are presently under execution at a cost of Rs. 47 lakh. Under DRDA 10 self-help groups would be formed.
While reviewing the stock and supply position in Uri tehsil he was told that 650 Qtls of rice, 660 Qtls of Atta, 300 Qtls of Sugar, 4000 Gas cylinders and 20000 litres of K-Oil was available.
