| J&K tableau drawing heavy crowds at Delhi | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 24 This year’s J&K Tableaus which will be participating in the R-day parade on 26th January 2008 at Delhi, has become a centre of attractive. Designed and fabricated by Mr Veer Mushi, an internationally reputed artist of state and presented by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, the tableau depicts the world famous newly inaugurated Tulip Garden of Sringar. During the grand rehearsal on 23rd of January, the tableau drew huge crowds and applause people standing on both sides of Rajpath were fascinated by the beautiful tulips and the enchanting Kashmiri and Dogri Folk Music. Folk artists from J&K were seen performing with ethnic instruments on the ground and the tableaux as well. Chief Secretary Mr. B.R Kundal, alongwith Commissioner Secretary General Administration Department Mr. Khursheed Ahmad Ganai visited the tableaux and interacted with the artists. The Tableaux depicts the Composite Culture of J&K and a blend of Duggar folk lore and Kashmiri Sufiana Music. A beautiful combination of Santoor, Rabab, Gara(Noct), Tumbak nari creates mesmerizing atmosphere. Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi who is camping in New Delhi since last two days was excited about the encouraging response to the State tableaux by the people of Delhi. “With this Tableaux the world will come to know about this fascinating tourist attraction, which is the second largest Tulip Garden in the World”, he hoped. |
