| Speaker discusses Privilege Notice against MD JKPCC | | | Early Times Reporter

Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mr. Tara Chand today convened a meeting in his office chamber and discussed the matter relating to Privilege Notice brought by MLAs Mian Altaf Ahmed and Mr. Ghulam Hassan Khan in their capacity as Chairmen Public Accounts and Estimates Committees against the Managing Director JKPCC Mr. Dileep Thussu for showing lukewarm attitude towards the Committees.
In their Notice, the MLAs have alleged that the Managing Director, JKPCC did not participate during the inspections of some important ongoing projects undertaken by JKPCC and embarrassed the Committee Members. They have stated that House Committees function as Mini Houses and it was mandatory on the part of every department and officer to attend its meeting on priority and provide any information called by the Committees.
Thussu explained his position and said that there was no intentional lapse on his part. He said that directions of House Committees were taken at the highest esteem. He however, assured the Speaker that he would be more conscious and careful towards the directions of the Committees.
MLA Mian Altaf Ahmed, Secretary Legislative Assembly Mr. Mohammad Ramzan, Additional Secretary Assembly Mr. G.N.Mir were present in the meeting. |
