| Cabinet Sub Committee discusses Rehbar-e-Zerat | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 24 Cabinet Sub Committee met here today under the chairmanship of the Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma to discuss the issues related to Rehbar-e- Zirat. Among others, Minister for Agriculture , Mr. Abdul Aziz Zargar, Minister for PHE and Horticulture, Mr. Mohammad Dilawar Mir, Minister for R&B, Mr. Jugal Kishore, Chief Secretary, Mr. B.R. Kundal, Financial Commissioner, Agri Production, Mr. S.S.Sahani, Financial Commissioner, Planning and Development, Mr. S.S. Kapur, Principal Secretary GAD, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Principal Secretary Law, Commissioner Finance, Secretary Agriculture, MD JK Agro Industries Development Corp were present in the meeting. The committee discussed the problems of un-employed agriculture technocrats and decided to formulate a sustainable scheme to absorb them under Rahbar-e- Zirat scheme in a phased manner. It was decided to frame a 5 member committee headed by the Chief Secretary. The committee will come up with a comprehensive plan for the agriculture graduates engaged under Rebar-e-Zirat scheme to pave the way for their absorption on regular basis, thereby saving their future career. The committee has been asked to submit its report within one month to Cabinet Sub Committee. The members put further their opinions and suggestions on the issue. It was given out that at present more than 3000 agriculture technocrats have been engaged and an amount of Rs.4.90 crore has been earmarked for this scheme. The Secretary Agriculture was asked to convene the DPC and clear the promotions which can explore the vacancies. The Agro Industries Dev. Corporation (JKAIDC)and JK Horticulture Produce Marketing Corporation (KJHPMC) also came up for discussion in the meeting. In view of increasing cost of the management is increasing, it was decided a golden handshake offer would be extended to more employees to overcome the problem. The meeting decided that certain portion of the assets of the JKAIDC would be sold out to clear the liability of the corporation, which has accumulated to Rs.10.23 crore including the salaries of the employees. There are 326 employees working in the Corporation, the meeting was informed. |
