| Accused gets life imprisonment in murder case | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 24 Sessions Judge Kupwara has convicted accused Mohammed Sarvar Ganai son of Abdul Aziz Ganie resident of Mazarhama Kupwara to rigorous imprisonment of life and fine of Rs. one lakh u/s 3202 RPC and 10 years imprisonment and fine of Rs.25000 under section 326 RPC. The Court also issued warrant u/s 512 Cr PC against another accused Mushtaq Ahmed son of Samad Sheikh resident of Warsoo Kupwara which has been sent to SSP Kupwara for execution. According to IG Crime and Railways, a case was registered in Police Station Wilgam on May 12, 1999 when the police station received information through reliable sources that during the intervening night of May 11-12, 1999 some unidentified gunmen forcibly entered the residential house of Allah-ud-Din Shah son of Mohammed Yosuf Shah resident of Kupwara and resorted to indiscriminate firing killing Mohammed Amin Shah, his wife and daughter, besides Zarifa w/o Allah-ud-Din Shah, while Syeeda Begum mother-in-law of Mohammed Amin Shah was seriously injured. He further said that keeping in view the seriousness of the case, it was immediately transferred to Crime Branch Kashmir for investigation on May 17, 1999 and the investigation culminated into a challan against Mohammed Sarwar and Mushtaq Ahmed u/s 307 RPC r.w. 7/25 Arms Act. A challan of the case was produced in the Court of Judicial Magistrate Kupwara on October 5, 2001 wherefrom it was committed to the Court of Sessions Judge for trial. The Court yesterday convicted the accused and awarded punishment. |
