Jammu, Aug 24: A top commander of the Harkat-ul-Jehad-i-Islami (HUJI) today laid down arms before the army in Keshwan area of district Doda today
Identified as Nazir Ahmad Hajam, a self styled section commander of the Harkat-ul-Jehad-i-Islami (HUJI), surrendered before army unit of 63 Rashtriya Rifles Keshwan area of Doda district, Defence spokesman told NAK
Hajam, who joined militancy in early 2004 remain active and was involved in 'various militancy related activities in the district. Sources said
Nazir Ahmad alias Sajid is a local resident of the area handed over his weaponry, which include AK 56, two magazines, and some rounds to the army and join mainstream.
It was revealed that the militant who was active section commander of HUJI was persuaded by his parents and was brought to army camp where he surrenders. |
