In a handout issued here today Gupta appealed the AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi to reconsider the decision as under Soz’s command the Congress will face debacle in the ensuing Assembly elections. He said Congress workers no more tolerate such decision to appoint outsider on top post neglecting senior most leaders of the state adding that ‘we have already tolerated two MLCs, one Minister and several bureaucrats but this time the Congress workers will revolt en-mass’. ‘He himself being a grass root level worker and serving the people and party for the last three decades will never tolerate such steps of the party high command’, Gupta said, adding there are several senior leaders like Pt .Mangat Ram Sharma, Janak Raj Gupta, Ch .Mohammed Aslam, Abdul Gani Vakil who could be considered as PCC Chief. Favouring Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad as the PCC Chief, Gupta said ‘he is more acceptable leader and popular among the masses and has the capacity to win the elections’. |
