Jammu Muslims to Boycott congress in coming elections: Hajj Aspirants

Jammu, Aug.24 : Hajj aspirants of Jammu region today protested in front of Divisional commissioner and latter submit their memorandum to the President of India through Raj Bhawan, praying for justice at par with Kashmiri Hajj aspirants.
According to memorandum they the aspirants inform president of India that it had become a convention in J&K by the previous Govt. of J&K to do discriminatory role with people of Jammu Province.
Addressing the members of Hajj aspirants the leaders of the community blame congress led government for the discrimination with the Muslims of the region.
They appeal to all Muslims to boycott congress in coming elections. They said hopes which the Muslims of Jammu particularly the Hajj Aspirants of the region has totally dashed down to the ground because of the fact that the spiritual Hajji's Form of Jammu Division got the same type of injustice & discriminatory role from the present Chief Minister like that of previous regimes in J&K. they allege.
Contending that the population of Muslims in the state is 67, 93,240. Out of which Muslim population of Kashmir Division is 53, 21,600 and Muslim population of Jammu Division = 13, 59,521 while the Muslim Population of Ladakh Division = 1, 12119.
According to them Central Hajj Committee allotted seats in two phases to J&K State.
i) 1st Phase = 4818 seats) IInd Phase =1799 seats. Total No. =6617 seats.
They said that on 12-8-06 the deputation of Hajji’s Forum for Jammu Division the Hon' ble CM agreed with the forum that the demand was genuine & assured that he will send all the aspirants i.e. 1290 applicants for Hajj Pilgrimage & seats for Jammu Division are actually according to formula 1323, but Hon'ble CM belonging to Jammu Division did not do justice with Jammu Division Muslims i.e. the convener state Hajj Committee J&K State (Divisional Commissioner Kashmir) through his letter to Div. Com. Jammu vide no. Hajj/353/2006 II, dated 13-8-2006 has cleared that he cannot do the justice & allots the seats according to population percentage.
The aspirants said that they will approach court for getting direction to government and side by side the members among the aspirants will approach to Human rights commission.
