| CB presents charge sheet against three accused in cheating case | | Several people duped of their hard earned money | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 27 Crime Branch has presented challan against three accused in the court of law for cheating innocent people thus duping them of their hard earned money. A spokesman of the Crime Branch said today that a case FIR No 158/99 was registered in Police station Baramulla in connection with a complaint that the managing body of a non-banking finance company namely ‘Green Endowment Plantation Ltd’ has motivated innocent people to deposit their money with the said company for better interest rates and other lucrative offers but the deposited amount was not returned to them. The case initially investigated by Police Station Baramulla was subsequently transferred to Crime Branch, Kashmir, in view of public interest, the spokesman added. He further said that during investigation it was revealed that Mohammed Anwar Kumar son of Mohammed Jamal of Bijbehara, Abdul Ghani Parray son of Mohammed Jamal resident of Mattan and Abdul Majid s/o Ghulam Rasool r/o Moominabad, in furtherance to a criminal conspiracy, motivated the people to deposit their savings with the Company for better interest rates. However, on maturity even the principal amount was not returned to the depositors thereby subjecting them to wrongful loss. On establishment of cheating case, the Crime Branch presented charge sheet before the Court of 3rd Additional Munsiff Srinagar against all the three accused. |
