| Army lifts 4th Governor's Golf championship | | Sinha gives away prizes | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 27 Army today lifted 4th Governor's Golf Cup at Bepta Army Golf Course Miran Sahib. The trophy was presented by Governor Lt. General (Retd) S. K. Sinha at a function in which Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad was also present. The Tournament was organized at Bepta Golf course in collaboration with Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. In all, 36 golfers participated in the tournament, which include Police, Army, BSF and top level police and civil officers. The Jammu and Kashmir Police started this tournament in 2005 and earlier to this three chapters of the prestigious tournament were played at BSF Golf Course Jammu during past three years. Governor presented trophies to Col. J. M. Arora for net score runner, Anil Goswami for net score winner, gross score runner Col. J. M. Arora and gross score winner Col. A. K. Jule. Prize for longest drive hole went to Lt. Col. Balbir Singh, nearest to pin hole was won by Col. G. K. Chopra, maximum birdies by Rajinder Tickoo and nearest to straight line was received by Maj. General A. K. Malik. For Ladies runner up, S. Loomba and Winner Shamim Azad also received trophies. In the children event cash prizes worth Rs. 500 and Rs. 300 were given to winner and runner up to Tejaswi Singh and Rishbah. Director General Police Kuldeep Khoda presented mementoes to the Governor and Chief Minister on behalf of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the organizers of the tournament. Earlier, Chief Minister and Director General of Police kick started the tournament by tee-off. |
