Republic Day celebrations continue

Minister of Health and Medical Education Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma called upon the people to take a pledge to uphold State's integrity and its varied culture, faith and ethnicity which had given Jammu and Kashmir a unique identity of unity in diversity stated
The school children presented a colour full cultural programme depicting on communal harmony, amity and integrity on the occasion which were liked by the audience
He said this while addressing a largely attended public meeting today at Gole Panjpeer after unfurling national flag as a part of Republic Day celebrations.
Pt. Ji said the government is fully aware about the people's problems and has taken concerted steps to address these. He said dream of khushal Jammu and Kashmir could only be achieved by ensuring complete peace and progress. He said Azad led government's attention was focused on economic reconstruction of State and providing basic amenities to the people.
Meanwhile in connection with the Republic Day celebrations a function was held at Government High School Panthal today. Minister of Roads and Buildings Jugal Kishore Sharma who was chief guest on the occasion hoisted the national flag and took salute at the impressive march past. Contingents drawn from different schools of the area participated..The students presented colourful cultural programme, a skit "Kokri" presented by Ajeet Singh and party was highly appreciated.
The Minister speaking on the occasion threw light on the number of development works carved out in the state particular in the Reasi district under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister. Ghulam Nabi Azad. He also assured the people to take up the matter regarding up gradation of Government High School Panthal to Higher Secondary with the government and constructing of examination Hall for the school. He emphasized upon the teachers to infuse the spirit of value system in the children
In another function held at R P High School Muthi, Minister for Rural Development Mula Ram stated that maintaining better education standards in the state has been his government's top agenda which it has proved by opening about half a dozen new universities, forty Degree colleges and hundreds of schools.
Reiterating his government's resolve of bringing state at par with high literacy rate states of the country, Mula Ram said the unprecedented expansion of education facility from primary to University level witnessed over last five years has already set the stage for achieving the goal of hundred percent literacy rate. Minister for R&B Jugal Kishore Sharma was also present on the occasions.
He said opening of forty new colleges and thousands of schools from elementary to higher secondary level has taken the education to the doorsteps of the people.
Earlier, the Minister for Rural Development. Mula Ram unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the march past presented by school children. The tiny Tots of the school also presented a colorful cultural programme.
The Ministers also gave away prizes to the students of the school for distinguish performance in academics and other fields.
The 59th Republic Day was celebrated by troops of Romeo Force and the awaam of Rajouri, Poonch Districts. At most of the places in the twin districts, the celebrations commenced with hoisting of national flag, singing of national anthem and impressive march past by School children. This was followed by a colourful cultural programme, distribution of sweets and prizes.
Darhal and Manjakot also witnessed 15,000 enthusiastic locals congregating to participate in the Republic Day Celebrations in the region. The remote areas of Surankot like Chamrer, Marhot, Kulali, Hilkaka and Chandimar and areas like Mandi, Loran, Haribudha, Arai, Dundhok and Lasana, the adjoining areas of snow capped mountain peaks of the Pir Panjal near Poonch and other places on relatively lower heights like Kalai, Bachianwali, Muri, Khanetar, Salani and Bhagiot, witnessed scores of people coming out in large number to participate in the Republic Day Celebrations. Approximately 42,000 persons attended the Republic Day Celebrations in the area of responsibility of Romeo Force.
A colorful function was organized by the Roop Nagar Wefare assosciation in which the MLC RS Chib who was the chief guest on the occasion hoisted the national flag. Prseident of the assosciation, Om Kesar along with other members explained the importance of this day.
RS Chib while addressing the audience said that it is our duty to remember our elders like Baba Sahib Ambedkar along with Pt. JL Nehru, Sardar patel and others who under the leadership and guidance of Mahatma Gandhi gave us an excellent constitution.
On this occasion, he also donated amount of Rs 1 lac towards the development fund of Roop Nagar Assoscaition.
