| Hindu commander among 2militants killed | | |
Doda, Aug 24 : Army claimed to have gunned down two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen, including a Hindu commander near Kulhand area of Doda district, early today.
Official sources said that Army and Jammu Kashmir police on a tiff off Cordon the area and two militants were reportedly trapped in the security net.
The militants, Police said, fired upon the army and police and in exchange of fire both the militants got killed.
Identified as Kuldeep Sharma, alias Kamran and Khalid Kashmiri were active and both belonged to the militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.
However, police said that the identification of another militant was yet to established, it was presumed that he could be Khalid Kashmiri as he has been a close associate of the Hindu commander.
One Hindu Commander, Kuldeep Sharma, alias Kamran alias KK and having tele codes Alfa 4 and F16, got reportedly converted from Hinduism to Islam in 1998 after he joined the militancy.defence spokesman told NAK. Kuldeep, Army said, was responsible for a series mine blasts as he was known for his job of IED blasts.
It is pertinent to mention that more than 30 Hindu militants in Doda, Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu region. |
