Mehbooba has given me tough time: Omar

Jammu | Jan 27
The President of National Conference, Omar Abdullah –once nominated as global leader of tomorrow –admires Benazir Bhutto and Sonia Gandhi for their political courage but back home is scared of the political opponent and another contemporary young hope of politics –Mehbooba Mufti.
This is not an analysis generated at our news desk or a pinching statement from the Peoples Democratic Party but an admission of Omar Abdullah himself. Often called as Cub-e-Kashmir for drawing the lineage of his illustrious grandfather Sher-e-Kashmir, Omar admits that Mehbooba has given him tough time in Jammu and Kashmir over past few years.
However, the reason of his admiration for Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated last month, is entirely different. He says that he likes Benazir Bhutto for her ability to lead a Muslim country. He admires Sonia Gandhi "for showing that you don't have to be born in India to get India to take to you".
Interestingly, notwithstanding all the political contradictions and even enmities they the National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party may have, Omar Abdullah admits that he admires Mehbooba Mufti –the president of the PDP. The National Conference president has made these honest confessions in an interview to a women's magazine Femina in its January issue.
Asked about his understanding of a beautiful woman, Omar says, the beautiful woman to him means, "a combination of a pretty face and an attractive body but none of it matters if the person is a shallow and boring". Among the film actresses of these days, he likes Bipasha Basu and among other women politicians she admires Mayawati, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
Guess what Omar is doing when he is not in the routine business of politics –where he is rarely seen. Omar says that after shedding his political skin, he likes most playing with his kids, chatting with wife, catching up with friends, listening to music, reading books and riding on motorcycle. When takes a break from politics, he also likes playing video games on the Xbox or PS3.
The Abdullah junior has on the wish list a hugely expensive car to gift to his wife Payal. He says he would like to present his wife Bugatti Veyron car which is her dream vehicle. The Veyron costs more than a Million Dollars. Therefore, till is able to afford that car he would like to take his wife to a holiday in the mountains of New Zealand.
In relations, Omar candidly says that he has never been ditched though he admits being turned down once. "I felt like a fool and my friends still tease me about it; so does my wife. In fact, I had brought a stuffed toy for her all the way from Delhi. In all fairness to me, I only did it because a common friend mentioned that the girl liked me. I later realized that my friend may have been exaggerating a bit", says Omar.
