| Various organizations flecicitate Prof. Amitabh Mattoo | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 29 Rasa Jawadani Memorial Literary Society (RJMLS) has felicitated Vice Chancellor University of Jammu Prof. Amitabh Mattoo for being confirmed with the countries prestigious award Padamshree in function held here today. The function was presided over by Muhammad Shafi Pandit, Chairman Public Service Commission (PSC) while Ved Bhasin, Editor-in-Chief, Kashmiri Times, Shohab Inayat Malik, president of RJMLS was also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Shafi Pandit lauded the qualities of head and heart of Prof. Amitabh Mattoo and also congratulated him on being awarded Padamshree, He further said that Prof. Mattoo has played vital role in bringing peace and prosperity in whole sub-continent. “Under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Mattoo, University of Jammu has excelled in all fields, weather it academic, cultural or research,” he added. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik in his welcome address described Prof. Mattoo not only a reputed academician but also a noble soul having a secular bent of mind and has always inspired youngsters for good work. Prof. Amitabh Mattoo thanked the organizers for honoring him and said that he will strive more for the welfare of university. The well wishes of the people of the state irrespective of colour caste and creed inspired him to work wholeheartedly for the welfare of the state, he said Prof. Kursheed Hamra, Dean Faculty of oriental languages read out the citation and described Prof. Mattoo a man having a great vision. While a similar function was organized by Jammu University Teachers Association ( JUTA) at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium where Prof. Mattoo was presented with a shawl and memento by Dr. JS Tara , Vice president of the JUTA. Minister of Higher Education, Gulchain Singh Charak was the guest of honor on the occasion. He was also honored by JUTA President NR Sharma on this occasion. In his welcome addres, Prof. NR Sharma said that under the stewardship of the esteemed vice Chancellorm Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, the University has scaled new heights in the field of Academic collaborations, infrastructure, and establishment of new campus. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Mattoo exhorted the University fraternity to work hard for the raising standard of the university. Gulchain Singh Charak in his address stressed upon the need of collaborative efforts between the ministry of Higher Education and the University, State President JUTA , JS Tara presented the vote of thanks. |
