| Kaul launches scathing attack on Opposition for stalling Assembly proceedings | | ‘Government’s achievements an eye opener for all’ | | Early Times Reporter

Accusing the Opposition for stalling the proceedings in the State Legislative Assembly, a Senior Congress leader and Block President, Jammu West Constituency, J L Kaul has described it a sheer frustration on the part of the opposition.
Addressing series of public meetings organized in connection with the celebration of Republic Day at several places in the constituency including Talab Tilloo, Bakshi Nagar,Top Sherkhani, he said that opposition was afraid of the growing popularity of the Congress and the achievements registered in the state during the last two years. The ‘hallo bullao’ of the opposition is meaningless as they are left with no point to criticize the functioning of the government whose achievements have been recognized not only within the state but also in other parts of the country, Kaul added.
The Congress leader dwelt at length the achievements of the coalition dispensation, especially during the Azad led Government and said that what could not achieved in last fifty years has been done in just few years. In this connection he referred to the implementation of the Wazir Commission recommendations, constitution of Finance Commission and introduction of Roshni Act.
Kaul appealed the people to remain vigilant and foil the evil designs of the adversaries of the Congress party who are out to create dissension in the rank and file of the party for their vested interests. ‘Afraid of the growing popularity of the Congress’, the Opposition has launched a frivolous campaign against the ruling alliance, he said adding that the people are wise enough to differentiate between the friend and a foe. He asked the party men to popularize the policies and programs of the Congress party as also its achievements and fan out in their respective areas to mobilize support for the party. The need of the hour was to strengthen the hands of the Chief Minister and Pt .Mangat Ram Sharma who are committed to the welfare of the people irrespective of caste, creed or colour.
The Congress leader expressed satisfaction over the pace of development on various schemes launched in the constituency and hoped that on completion the people would be largely benefited. He also hailed the government decision for opening of a college in the Constituency and said this has been made possible due to the personal intervention of Pt Mangat Ram Sharma.
He also distributes blankets, utensils and other essential items to the deserving and destitute women, besides stationery articles to the children living below the poverty line. |
