| SIKH LEADERS SUGGEST BADAL TO SNAP TIES WITH BJP | | |
Jammu, August 24 : Leaders of various Sikh organisations in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday held a meeting to discuss the fallout of the shocking incident in Jaipur where few miscreants had cut hair of sikh boy and suggested to former Punjab Chief Minister and Chief of Akali Dal(B) Prakash Singh Badal to sever ties with the BJP in protest against the failure of the BJP headed Government in Rajasthan in protecting the religious rights of Sikhs in that state. The meeting was presided over by Mr S.S.Wazir,a former President of State Gurdwara Prabandhak Board. In one voice,the sikh leaders said that Akali Dal (Badal ) Should break his alliance with the BJP. Among those who attended the meeting included Mr Paramjit Singh,President AISSF,Mr Mohinder Singh,Chief organiser Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society,Mr Amar Singh President Sikh Welfare Society and Mr Kulwant Singh Chief Adviser Sikh Noajawan Sabha. These leaders,while expressing concern over what they called sacrilege in Jaipur,wanted the Jethedar of the Akal Takht,Mr Joginder Singh Vedanti,to intervene so that Jaipur type incident was not repeated in any part of the country. Appreciating the police role in arresting all the culprits the Sikh leaders demanded stern action against them. |
