| JKHA XI blanks Zorawar Club in hockey | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 30 Registering an outright victory over Zorawar Club (7-0), Jammu and Kashmir Hockey Association (JKHA) XI today qualified for the semi-finals of the Ashwani Kapoor Memorial Hockey Tournament underway at K K Hakhu Stadium, here. The JKHA XI had complete domination over the opponent goal area and in the process got nine penalty corners out of which only two were successfully converted into goal by Gurjeet Singh (43rd) and Sukhwinder Singh (58th) in the second half of the match. Earlier, Sikander Pal Singh opened the account in the 8th minute. He later scored another goal soon after the drinks sounding the board in the 38th minute. Gurjeet Singh (30th, 43rd, 45th) was most successful with three goals in his account Vikram Singh (33rd) was another goal scorer from JKHA XI. Today’s match was officiated by Jagjit Singh, Harminder Pal Singh and D Singh. The next Group-B match of the tournament shall be played between Singh Club Bandurakh and Akali Kour Singh Club at 2.30 pm tomorrow. |
