| Semis position cleared in inter-college soccer | | | Early Times Reporter

Semifinals line-up has been drawn in the ongoing inter-college men’s football tournament with the entry of PG Arts and Government SPMR College of Commerce in the last four stages here today.
Other two teams of GGM Science College and Government MAM College have already reached the semi-finals.
Now, in the semi-finals, to be played tomorrow, MAM College shall take on Science College at 11.15 am, followed by the second semi-final between PG Arts and Commerce College.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, played today, PG Arts defeated Degree College Poonch 5-1 in a one-sided contest. Sanjeev and Rinchan were the architects of PG Arts’ big win scoring three and two goals respectively. From Poonch College Mohan Lal reduced the margin. The match was officiated by David Masih, Gagan Kumar and Rajinder Singh.
The second quarterfinal could not take played resulting into Commerce College finding a berth in the semis without any contest. It is pertinent to mention here that both PG Law and Sciences and Degree College Reasi failed to turn-up the venue in group-B.
Today’s quarterfinal was also witnessed by the Director Physical Education, Prof Lokesh Verma, who was special guest. Prof Verma interacted with the members of both the teams and encouraged the boys to excel in sports. He was accompanied besides others by Principal Degree College Poonch, Dr Gopal Gupta, Prof Vidya Sagar Hans of Commerce College, Dr Farooq Ahmed, Dr T H Shah of Poonch College, Dr Brij Baloria, Romesh Sharma, Ramesh Magotra, Mandeep Singh, Pankaj Sharma, Raj Kumar and PD Singh. |
