| Common people suffer, elected representative accumulate wealth: Balbir | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 30 Senior BJP leader Balbir Ram has expressed his concern over the growing corruption in the state and said it is indeed a matter of shame that out of 15 Ministers in the present Congress-PDP coalition cabinet, more than half of them are facing corruption charges. In a handout released here today Balbir said that while the people are complaining of price rise, unemployment, poor health services, inadequate supply of water and electricity, the elected representatives are in accumulating money. Referring to the Chief Minister’s slogans of work culture, transparency, accountability and corruption free administration, the BJP leader said that the Government has failed to keep its commitment. ‘If the CM is still committed to his slogan of rooting out corruption, he should immediately show the door to the entire tainted Ministers’, he said adding that this step alone would restore the faith of the people who had very high hopes from Ghulam Nabi Azad. May be the Chief Minister wants to take action but is bound by some compulsions, he said and added that in that case he should himself resign so that a message goes to the people that ‘Azad can leave the chair but can not compromise on his words’. |
