| Heavy rush to gold coin exhibition, 301 coins sold on first day | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 30 On the first day of the 2-day Gold coin exhibition cum sale held at its Nehru Market Branch here today, the Punjab National Bank has sold a record of 301 gold coins. The sale counters were busy with brisk activity for purchase of precious metal by the public and coins of 5 gms, 8 gms,10 gms and 20 gms denomination were sold with a special discount on the exhibition days. Zonal Manager Vivek Arya said that in view of the unprecedented response more stocks of the precious medals have been airlifted to the city and another sale cum exhibition shall be launched in Jammu very shortly. He said that he had arranged special discount of 3 to 4 per cent for people of the state from the corporate office on all denominations and added that the coins sold were of 24 carat with 99.99 per cent purity in international standards. Arya said that similar exhibition was held in Kashmir Valley in August last where the bank sold 358 coins on the first day. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sidhanshu Pandey who also visited the exhibition appreciated the efforts of PNB for undertaking multifarious development activities in the state. |
