| KP organizations for amendments to Hindu Shrines Bill | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 30 Most of the Kashmir Pundit organizations demanded some amendments to make the proposed Kashmiri Hindu Shrines (Management and Regulation) Bill more effective. Devasthan Prabandak Committee Tehsil Bijbehara (DPCB) demanded amendments in the proposed Kashmiri Hindu Shrines (Management and Regulation) Bill 2008 on the grounds that the proposed Bill does not provide for proper and sufficient representation to the Hindus of Kashmir in the Management Committees at state and district level. There shall be established Management committee for every Teshil of Kashmir province consisting of 10 members who shall be elected in accordance with the procedure as prescribed. Besides this, the existing Local Management Committees of different Shrines and temples should be associated with special officers for making accurate survey of assets of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines in the form of land, buildings, movable and immovable property. The meeting among others was attended by the members of village Krandigam, Jablipora, Thajiwara, Veer, Nubug, Batagund,Laribal, Kanalwan, Acheewer and Bijbehara. Meanwhile, the Kashmiri Hindu Minority Conference in a meeting held under the Chairmanship of its Convener Prof Gopi Kishen Muju also suggested incorporation of some amendments in the Bill proposed by the Kashmiri Hindu Minority Conference. |
