| Gole Panjpir deputation call on Mangat | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 30 A strong deputation of over three hundred residents of Gole Panjpir, Talab Tiloo, led by Block Congress President Jammu West Constituency J L Kaul and Ward Presidents Kaushal Kumar and Raj Kumar, called on veteran Congress leader and the Minister for Health and Medical Education Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma at his official residence here this evening and apprised him of the problems of the area. The delegation presented a memorandum listing demands to the Minister and sought his immediate intervention in resolving the same at the earliest. The demands included mettling of road from Gole Talab to Shamshan Ghat, completion of Sat Sung Bhawan, plying of matador service to Gole Panjpir, sanctioning of High School and opening of a dispensary in the area. The Minister on the spot gave orders to the engineering department to prepare estimates for undertaking mettling of the road as also for the completion of the Sat Sung Bhawan. As regards opening of the school and the dispensary, the Minister assured the deputation that same would also be considered. Interacting with the deputationists, the Minister impressed the need for maintaining peace and tranquility which was pre-requisite for speedy development of the State. He, in detail listed the achievements of the coalition government especially that of the Congress led government, and said that most of the promises made by the Congress party in its election manifesto during 2002 have already be fulfilled. He said a number of schemes have been completed in the constituency while work on other several ambitious projects is apace. He appealed the people to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who is committed to make Jammu and Kashmir a ‘Khushal state’ besides ensuring balanced and equitable development of all the regions of the state. |
