jammu, Mar 20: Two newly recruited Assistant Professors deputed in Government Degree College Boys Pulwama have allegedly been working in Saudi Arabia and Oman but have been drawing salary from GDC Pulwama. This alleged malpractice is allegedly being managed by the Assistant Professors with active connivance of the college administration.
Sources in Higher Education department informed Early Times two newly recruited Assistant Professors of Chemistry subject, posted in GDC Boys Pulwama had joined government service in the year 2017 but after few days, they picked up jobs in Saudi Arabia and Oman.
"They were teaching in these countries, even before joining the Higher Education department. But after their engagement here, they tried to manage both the jobs", sources alleged, adding that these two APs remained in the college for one month and after a gap of over two-three months, they once again flew back to foreign countries.
They have been managing it with active connivance of the administration and some clerical staff, who had allegedly assured them to manage everything, in lieu of some kickbacks. Sources said that these APs had taken medical-leave from college without production of any medical certificate.
"They are being paid salaries through bank accounts with active connivance of clerical staff. Now the administration has been trying to shield them through frivolous excuses", sources alleged, adding that the issue was deliberately not taken up by college administration with Commissioner Secretary of Higher Education department.
Principal of GDC Boys Pulwama, BA Mir said that these two professors had taken medical leave and have been absent from duties for the last over two months. "When I came to know about them, I took the matter with higher authorities", he said, adding that he was still unaware as they were in some foreign country or medically ill. |
