Jammu | Jan 30
Leader of the opposition AR Rather on Wednesday termed the state governments act of adjourning the house sine die as an act of ‘political burial.
Responding to the charges of deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussian Baig who immediately addressed a press conference after the house was adjourned sine die by the speaker Tara Chand Rather said, “it is a day of political burial of the coalition government” .
Quoting rules and procedures of the house proceedings Rather said this is the blackest day in the history of the state legislature ."the government passed the bills in the house without listing them in the business and without circulating copies of the bill to the members". I want to ask the members who voted for thebill what were the contents of the bill, did you read the bill what was it all about.
Rather even asked members of the fourth estate whether you people were distributed copies of the bill and the list of the business which speaker Tara chand rushed through during the second half when the house witnessed complete pandemonium.
“The state government has made mockery of the house and is haphazardly rushing through the business as if it was under pressure from any quarter”.
Responding to the charges leveled against him by the deputy chief minister that government has received a complaint that leader of the opposition had encroached about 400 kanals of land, Rather said I dare deputy chief minister to prove the allegations right within two days time and I will quit politics within minutes. If he failed to prove the charges he should quit from the post of deputy chief minister.
Visibly hurt Rather said I am forced to say that this govt in an attempt to shield its own ministers is indulging in vendetta politics. He also dared planning minister to fce the music of the people. He had to respond to the querries what made them pass the budgetary grants in haste without discussing them in the house,Rather said.
