| Revenue employees charge sheeted | | ‘Dishonestly mutated government land against seven beneficiaries’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 1 The Crime Branch has presented charge sheet against the revenue officials of Tehsil Badgam for dishonestly mutating 11 kanals and 11 marlas of Shamilat land including Kohuls in Estate Rawalpora to some undeserving persons in total disregard and contravention of rules in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Kashmir. During the investigation of case FIR No 18/2001, it transpired that the then revenue officials of Tehsil Badgam by misuse of their official position conferred undue benefits to the undeserving persons by mutating 11 kanals and 14 marlas of government land. Investigation of the case revealed that the then Tehsildar Badgam Mohammed Sikander Malik son of Mohammed Sultan of Hayeen Trehgam Kupwara, Omkar Nath Koul ex-CQ estates Ralawpora, son of Lal Koul resident of Ratnipora Pulwama, presently migrant, and Ghulam Mohammed Ganaie ex-Patwari Rawalpora son of Abdul Rehman r/o Arigam Budgam transferred the government land situated at Baghwanpora Humhama valuing at about rupees three crores in favour of accused beneficiary Hira Lal s/o Dr Sham Lal resident of Barzulla, Gulraiz enclave, Kamni Devi d/o Dr. Sham Lal r/o New Plots Prem Nagar Janipora, Mohammed Maqbool Dar s/o Abdul Rehman Dar, Ghulam Mohammed Dar, s/o Abdul Rehman Dar, Abdul Gani Dar s/o Abdul Rehman Dar, Mohammed Ramzan Dar s/o All Rehman, all residents of Humhama to confer upon them undue benefits. After having established the commission of fraud and corruption against the said accused, the Crime Branch has launched prosecution against the revenue officials after accord of government sanction and accordingly presented a charge sheet against them before Court of Special Judge Anti-corruption, Kashmir. |
